Volunteers Turn Out across Maine for Third Annual McDonald’s® Breakfast Makes a Difference Day

Maine McDonald’s® and Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) of Maine gathered more than 300 volunteers for the third annual Breakfast Makes a Difference initiative on Friday and Saturday, October 26 and 27. People across Maine generously donated their time to nearly 20 non-profit organizations served by the RMHC of Maine. To thank the volunteers, Maine McDonald’s provided them with breakfast and coffee from McDonald’s, tee-shirts and Newman’s Own® Organics snacks.

Participating non-profit organizations across the state included Riding to the Top (Windham), Good Shepherd Food Bank (Auburn), Camp Susan Curtis (Stoneham), The Telling Room (Portland), Camp Capella (Holden), Aid for Kids (Houlton), Ronald McDonald House (Portland and Bangor), Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine, Bangor Y, Hardy Girls Healthy Women (Waterville), Family Crisis Services (Portland), Easter Seals (Portland), Broadreach Family and Community Services (Belfast and Rockland), and Youthlinks (Rockland). All are recipients of grant funding from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine.

In 2012, RMHC of Maine granted more than $220,000 to organizations across Maine and eastern New Hampshire that help families and children lead happier, healthier and more productive lives. For more information about applying for a grant visit www.rmhcmaine.org.

The Maine McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association is a collaboration of 15 local McDonald’s franchisees across Maine and in eastern New Hampshire.
